Blockstream Jade is a low-cost, fully open-source hardware wallet (firmware and hardware) developed by Blockstream. It supports Bitcoin and Liquid Network assets, and offers air-gapped QR-code signing via its built-in camera, as well as USB-C and Bluetooth. Instead of a closed-source physical secure element it uses a 'Virtual Secure Element' (keys are encrypted and protected by a Blockstream blind oracle), a design choice that keeps the device fully open-source. Since June 2026 the line-up has three models: the classic Jade at about €71 ($79), Jade Core at about €88 ($99, no camera, USB-C/Bluetooth only) and Jade Plus at about €151 ($149 plastic – $169 metal, 66% larger screen, improved camera and SD-card support). Companion app: Blockstream App, but it is also compatible with Sparrow, Electrum, Specter, BlueWallet and Nunchuk.
