  1. Data breach Severe ● open

Data breach: order data of 39,798 customers exposed and put up for sale

On 16 Aug 2026 SafePal disclosed a data breach caused by an authorization flaw in a third-party order-tracking plug-in on its e-commerce site: by manipulating the order number a user could view other customers' order data (a separate misconfiguration also prevented data cleanup between September 2025 and April 2026). Exposed data included names, email addresses, shipping addresses, phone numbers and purchase information of customers who ordered between 2 Mar 2025 and 11 Apr 2026. Seed phrases, private keys, passwords, bank details, card numbers, government IDs and funds were NOT exposed: wallet (self-custody) security remained intact. SafePal patched the flaw, cut data retention to 90 days, engaged an independent security firm, removed 30+ fraudulent sites/phishing links and notified customers by email. ⚠️ The stolen data is being advertised for sale on a cybercrime forum: the risk of targeted phishing is real.
