Verdict

A D ★ 4.5/5 ★ 1.5/5

The A rating rewards the category's best FX tool: the real interbank (mid-market) rate, explicit 0.35-1.5% fees, over 40 currencies and local IBANs in several countries, ideal for off-ramping and international payments. Available in Italy. The only real consumer caveat is that balances follow the EMI safeguarding model and are not covered by the deposit guarantee, unlike N26 or Revolut.

Wise has no native crypto features, is custodial and full KYC: on the sovereignty axis it is the classic regulated fiat rail. It remains, however, one of the best off-ramps to euro for anyone leaving on-chain, so a practical complement to self-custody rather than a substitute for it.
