Clearpay (the international Afterpay brand) splits the amount into 4 interest-free instalments. It is a payment institution (register no. 36086) operating in the EEA under the supervision of the Bank of Spain and the Bank of Italy. The "0 interest" applies to on-time payers: delays incur a €6 late fee, plus another €6 after 7 days, capped at 25% of the order value (maximum about €36). As with other BNPL, the main cost is borne by the merchant and regulation changes with CCD2 (from 20/11/2026).
