Feather is a lightweight, open-source Monero (XMR) desktop wallet, developed as a community project. It runs on desktop only — Linux, Tails, Windows and macOS — with no mobile app. It is pure self-custody: keys stay on your device and there is no account and no KYC. Its whole reason to exist is privacy: it inherits Monero's native anonymity (amounts, sender and receiver hidden on-chain) and adds network-level privacy, being reachable over clearnet, via a Tor onion address and over I2P, so you don't expose your IP when connecting to a remote node. It describes itself as "easy to use, small and fast", with sane defaults but also advanced options for high or uncommon threat models. You can connect it to a public Monero node or to your own node. It is free. It is not a pick for anyone wanting multi-chain or mobility: it is a vertical tool for those who want maximum privacy on Monero from the desktop.

Does Feather support cryptocurrencies other than Monero?
No. Feather is a Monero-only (XMR) wallet: it does not handle Bitcoin or any other chain. It is a vertical tool, designed for those who want to use Monero from the desktop with maximum privacy.
Why is Feather considered very private?
For two layers. The first is Monero itself, which hides amounts, sender and receiver on-chain. The second is the network: Feather is reachable over clearnet, via a Tor onion address and over I2P, so you can connect to a node without exposing your IP address. You can also point it at your own Monero node.
Is Feather available on smartphones?
No. Feather runs on desktop only: Linux, Tails, Windows and macOS. There is no official iOS or Android version. Anyone wanting Monero on mobile must use a different wallet.
