Banca AideXa — X Risparmio Cedola

Banca AideXa S.p.A.

3.4/5 0.4/5 · Data verified on

X Risparmio Cedola is Banca AideXa's deposit account that pays interest every month instead of accruing it to maturity: built for people who want periodic income, not compounding. In exchange for the monthly coupon there is no compounding, and the term cannot be broken. Its rate curve is its most unusual feature and deserves attention: 3.20% gross at 12 and 24 months, but only 2.20% at 6, 18 and 36. Choosing 18 months over 24 costs a full point of return for six fewer months of lock-up. Entry is €1,000 with a single payment — no top-ups allowed — and the ceiling is €250,000 across all deposits the customer holds at AideXa. At maturity the term does not roll over: the relationship closes.

Strengths

  • Interest credited monthly: one of the few Italian deposit accounts built as periodic income rather than accumulation.
  • Stamp duty is charged at maturity and on closing, not taken along the way.
  • No automatic rollover: at maturity the capital comes back without having to remember to cancel.
  • No notable sovereignty advantage documented.

Weaknesses

  • Saw-tooth rate curve: 3.20% at 12 and 24 months against 2.20% at 6, 18 and 36. The in-between terms are not a compromise, they are a flat loss of a gross point.
  • No compounding: the coupon leaves the account every month, so it does not work for you. Over long horizons it pays less than a product at the same rate that compounds.
  • Rigid lock-up and single payment: no early withdrawal and no adding money after opening.
  • The €250,000 ceiling is per customer, not per account, counting all AideXa deposits: anyone already holding a Flexi or Libero finds it reduced.
  • Custodial: the platform holds your funds and can freeze or lose them.
  • Full KYC required: verified identity, zero pseudonymity.
  • Subject to regulation (Italian banking licence (Bank of Italy)): reporting to authorities and freezes on order.

Verdict

B D ★ 3.4/5 ★ 0.4/5

Score 3.4/5, solid profile. In its favour: interest credited monthly: one of the few Italian deposit accounts built as periodic income rather than accumulation. The trade-off to weigh: saw-tooth rate curve: 3.20% at 12 and 24 months against 2.20% at 6, 18 and 36. The in-between terms are not a compromise, they are a flat loss of a gross point.

On the Sovereignty lens the score is 0.4/5 (weak): the strength is censorship resistance (1.5/5), while fund control (0.0/5) is the weak link.

FAQ

Why do 18 months pay less than 12?

Because AideXa rewards only the 12- and 24-month maturities, which pay 3.20% gross, while 6, 18 and 36 months stop at 2.20%. This is not a misreading: these are the conditions of the information sheet effective 13 July 2026. In practice, if you are considering 18 months you are almost always better off choosing 24 and taking the extra point, or 12 and getting the capital back sooner.

What does 3.20% actually pay?

After the 26% withholding tax and the 0.2% annual stamp duty on the balance, 3.20% gross becomes 2.168% net. Stamp duty is borne by the customer, calculated proportionally and charged at maturity.

How does it differ from AideXa's other deposit accounts?

X Risparmio Cedola pays interest monthly and does not compound it. The other products in the range — Flexi, Libero, ProntoSmart — work differently on withdrawal rights and interest payment. Watch the ceiling: the €250,000 limit is calculated across all deposit accounts the customer holds at AideXa, not product by product.

Can I add money after opening?

No. The information sheet is explicit: subscription happens with a single payment and no further payments are allowed after the initial one. To deposit more you must open a new term at whatever conditions apply then.

Do I need an AideXa current account?

No, but you must nominate a Reference Account at another bank, held or jointly held by the deposit holder. Funds move in and out only by SEPA transfer to and from that account, which can be replaced during the relationship provided it stays in the holder's name.
