Keplr
Chainapsis
Keplr is the reference self-custody wallet for the Cosmos ecosystem: keys stay on the device, encrypted with the user's password, and Chainapsis does not store them. It supports native IBC transfers between Cosmos SDK chains (Cosmos Hub, Osmosis, Juno, Secret Network and many others) and includes integrated staking as a core feature, with reward and unbonding tracking. It has also expanded to EVM networks (including Ethereum) and Starknet. It is available as a browser extension and iOS/Android app.

- No KYC: usable without identity verification.
- Self-hostable: you can run your own instance or node.
Weaknesses
- Only partially open source: some extension submodules are not public; no named public security audit; steep learning curve for users coming from EVM-only wallets.
- No notable sovereignty drawback documented.
Verdict
Score 4.3/5, very strong profile. In its favour: reference wallet for Cosmos/IBC with native inter-chain transfers and integrated staking; extended support for EVM networks and Starknet; Ledger hardware wallet support. The trade-off to weigh: only partially open source: some extension submodules are not public; no named public security audit; steep learning curve for users coming from EVM-only wallets.
On the Sovereignty lens the score is 4.2/5 (very strong): the strength is fund control (5.0/5), while trustless / auditability (2.5/5) is the weak link.

FAQ
Is Keplr custodial?
No. Keplr is a non-custodial self-custody wallet: the private key is encrypted with your password and stored locally on your device. Chainapsis does not store the private key or recovery phrase.
Which blockchains does Keplr support?
Keplr is the reference wallet for the Cosmos/IBC ecosystem, with dozens of Cosmos SDK chains (Cosmos Hub, Osmosis, Juno, Secret Network and others) and native IBC transfers. It also supports EVM networks, including Ethereum, and Starknet.
Is Keplr open source?
Partly. The code is published on GitHub under the Apache 2.0 license, but the repository contains some non-open-source submodules available only in the official extension release. The primary features, however, work even without the closed-source modules.
