Verdict

C C ★ 3.0/5 ★ 2.6/5 Estimated net annual cost: €0/year

A virtual Mastercard issued through an FCA-regulated issuer with PCI-DSS certification and declared MiCA-compliant, so payment-security standards are high. Capital protection is more limited, though: the non-custodial model puts responsibility for keys and crypto on the user, and the parent company is based in Abu Dhabi (UAE), outside the EEA, which weakens direct regulatory protection for the European consumer.

A relative strength on the sovereignty side: the model is explicitly non-custodial, with keys and crypto under the user's control and fiat conversion only at the moment of payment. The usual card-level sovereignty constraints remain: mandatory full KYC, a centralized Mastercard network, and availability restricted to EEA residents.
