Fiditalia — Carta Bianca

Fiditalia S.p.A. · Mastercard

2.9/5 1.5/5 · Data verified on

Carta Bianca is Fiditalia's pure revolving credit card (Société Générale group), on the Mastercard network. It has no annual or monthly fee and no issuance, renewal or blocking cost: you only pay interest on the use of the credit line. But that credit is exactly what is expensive: fixed 16.80% TAN and 18.16% APR (example on a €1,500 limit), with a monthly repayment typically 3–5% of the limit — the formula that stretches debt and multiplies interest. It is reserved for existing Fiditalia customers: you cannot apply for it 'from outside'.

Plans & pricing

Strengths

  • No annual or monthly fee, no issuance, renewal or blocking cost
  • No conversion commission on foreign-currency purchases (only the Mastercard exchange rate applies)
  • Contactless and Chip&PIN; accepted anywhere the Mastercard logo appears
  • Plannable instalment repayment to spread spending
  • No notable sovereignty advantage documented.

Weaknesses

  • Pure revolving: you always repay in instalments with interest (18.16% APR), no interest-free full-balance option
  • Minimum repayment 3–5% of the limit: debt stretches and total interest grows
  • Reserved for existing Fiditalia customers: not available to new applicants
  • Cash withdrawal €4 flat per transaction (max €500/day, €2,000/month)
  • Traditional credit card: not self-custody — the account requires full KYC, a credit check, and can be closed or reported to credit bureaus by the issuer.
  • Full KYC required: verified identity, zero pseudonymity.
  • Funds can be frozen at the platform’s discretion.
  • Subject to regulation (Supervised financial intermediary (IT)): reporting to authorities and freezes on order.
  • FATF-aligned jurisdiction: strong cooperation with authorities.

Verdict

C D ★ 2.9/5 ★ 1.5/5

Carta Bianca leans entirely on the 'zero fee' message, but it is a pure revolving card: there is no interest-free full-balance option, so every euro spent and not repaid immediately costs 18.16% APR. With a minimum repayment of 3–5% of the limit, debt stretches and total interest can far exceed the fee saving. The low rating (2.9/C) is due precisely to the cost of revolving credit and the existing-customers-only access: for the ordinary spender there are charge cards that never charge interest. It only makes sense for those who genuinely need to spread payments and understand the cost.

A credit card is a credit line, not custody of funds: there is neither self-custody nor a user balance. It is a fully tracked and censorable instrument — full KYC, a supervised Italian finance-company issuer (Société Générale group) that profiles transactions and can suspend the line or revoke the limit at its discretion. On the sovereignty lens it is the opposite of trustless tools: no anonymity, no censorship resistance.
